

Autism is a heterogeneous neurological disorder with a complex genetic etiology, occurring in an estimated 1 in 110 individuals, boys more often than girls, adversely impacting early brain development, and manifested by qualitative impairments in social interaction, communication, and restricted and/or repetitive behaviors, interests, and activities.
