Member Benefits & Application

How do I apply for membership?

Why should I be a member of the WCAAP?

The WCAAP provides the professional support you need to practice the best possible medicine for children in Washington State whether you are a Pediatric Subspecialist, General Pediatrician, Hospitalist, or other Medical Professional.

What are some specific benefits to membership in the WCAAP?

Advocacy

As a member, you directly support advocacy efforts on behalf of Washington State children and their families as well as Pediatricians, Subspecialists, and other Health Professionals.  This is a primary focus of our chapter.
Some Examples:

  • We employ a part-time lobbyist in Olympia who regularly interacts with our Board.
  • We have developed a one of a kind legislative liaison system that matches local Pediatricians with their district representatives.
  • We facilitate communication between WCAAP members and government representatives through a variety ways including email, phone calls, and giving testimony at the Capitol.

Collaboration

Membership gives you access to state pediatric experts, policy makers, and community leaders.  We are currently making substantial efforts to facilitate member collaboration through our new website and communication processes.  Members receive discounted rates to advertise on our new Job Listings section that links to PedsJobs and other national sites through the National Healthcare Career Network.

Education

The WCAAP both supports and catalogs CME offerings throughout Washington.
Our website resource section offers Washington State specific information and links for members and their patients to a variety of pertinent topics in Pediatrics.
Members receive important information about issues affecting pediatric healthcare in our state through our newsletter and timely emails.
We are also working to develop online CME offerings as an included member benefit.

Leadership

Whether you prefer a large or small role, there many leadership opportunities available through the WCAAP.  Please check out the “Get Involved” section for more details.
